I will be getting a 1gbit connection soon and I´ve been thinking about getting a third party router instead of the one that my ISP would provide. Is it worth getting a gaming router? Is it going to make a difference in gaming or other activities? If so, which one should I get? My price target is 150-170€.
Router my ISP would provide: D-Link AC1750 https://www.amazon.com/D-Link-Smartbeam-App-Enabled-Dual-Band-DIR-868L/dp/B00C9VB318

All they really offer is QoS. Which is also normally found on business routers. With a garbage internet connection. QoS is helpful in prioritizing traffic. With a Gigabit internet connection. I wouldn't worry. Hardwiring to the router via Ethernet rather than using WiFi will do more for gaming than a fancy router.

Look at the specs for regular routers
Look at the specs for "gaming" routers.

Not the marketing fluff, dig in and find the actual specs.
You see any real difference?

How to charge 30% more for the same equipment? Put the word "gaming" in the name.
