Possible Bad Drive

I bought a new seagate 2TB barracuda hard disk after my old one was too small (I suppressed 1TB of data soon after) and may have been failing and HD tune is now warning me that a unknown SMART error has occurred on the new drive. I ran seatools on the drive and no errors have been reported. Should I trust the drive is safe and it was a false positive, or return it to memory express (Seagate will not give a MRA without one of their error codes)

Solution

As with any drive, have a viable, tested backup.
So if it DOES die, Seatools or not...your data is still safe, and you get a replacement from the manufacturer.
