Hello guys.I currently have an old PC,the specs are:
P41-ES3G (Socket 775) Gigabyte
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 @ 2.80GHz
512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
4 GB DDR2 Ram

So my question, since my motherboard can support a max of Core 2 quad,i'm gonna get Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz plus a friend of mine has a GTX 760 Windforce 2GB graphic card that he doesn't use so he's gonna give it to me.I was wondering what do you guys think, how will the performance be with these 2 new parts? Will there be a HUGE bottleneck with the core 2 quad and the GTX 760? How much will the performance improve comparing to my old cpu and graphic card? Will i be able to play games like GTA V without a problem? I don't have income because i'm unemployed at the moment and i can't buy new PC anytime soon.So i was wondering if this will be fine for now?
One last favor if i may ask,can anyone check if there will be any problems with my motherboard and does it support the core 2 quad and the GTX? I have no idea what i'm doing tbh since i'm a noob.
Thanks a lot!

It should be a big boost. You'll double the cores and add a lot of L2 cache. The GPU will be a massive difference. 4x the ram and much newer. The CPU will still be holding you back a lot. But you should be able to play most games at 1080 with mid settings. If this is within your means and not cost a ton it's a good idea.

Thanks for the answer! Btw what kind of power supply should i get? How much W? Mine is like 400 W atm which is not enough.Does the power supply have to be compatible with the motherboard or?

The 760 does need dual 6pin plugs if my memory serves. Some models might even need an 8pin plug. I'm powering a R9 280 which needs an 8pin and a 6pin plug with a 450W. Wattage isn't a measure of quality or ability. I'm powering my system with a 450W, I can link you a 1050W I wouldn't allow in my house let alone my case. A good 450-550W unit should do you fine.
