the mic on my desktop pc sounds absolutely horrible when i try to use it, its extremely quite at max volume and boost and overall sounds really bad.

the same mic sounds good on my laptop with it being nice and loud and not distorted, the drivers for the mic are exactly the same for both computers.

im just not sure if its the motherboard or what..... hope anyone here can point out a small problem that my dumb brain missed

CPU - AMD - FX-8350 4GHz 8-Core Processor
Motherboard - Asus - M5A78L-M PLUS/USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Memory - Crucial - Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Video Card - MSI - GeForce GTX 960 4GB Video Card

UPDATE - the earphones mic sounds alright but the headset mic still sounds horrible (head set im using is razer kraken pro, earphones im using Samsung akg (galaxy s8 ones))

PS - i know the the motherboard and CPU are not good friends but it works fine for me and im good if it works

Did you try contacting razer about this? The only thing I can think of is that razer ones, might have different power requirements, hence the question about the plug. Have you tried plugging razer headset into anything else? another computer? Tv? Sound system?

Works fine on both of my laptops, works fine on my galaxy s8, works fine on my iPhone 7, sound works fine on the desktop pc but mic does not, my earphones mix works fine on the pc also
I have a 550w power supply with my system using in the high 300s so I'm not short on power

No I didn't mean overall power. I meant the plug itself. But if your headset works on everything else, your audio plug should be a standard plug.
Ok so I'm assuming this is the front audio plug you tried? Have you tried plugging it in the back of the mobo? Same result?

I already found out how to fix it, I was using 4 pin jack but needed 3 pin jack so I ordered a splitter from Amazon.
