I agree the b3 lower wattage versions should be avoided, but the 500b isn't a good alternative. It had mediocre performance/quality at best.

I suggest the corsair CX450m

Lower wattage CX series aren't that great either, but could be better than the 500B idk. *I haven't seen any professional reviews of the CX450M, which is why I recommended the 500B.

I have edited your list a little bit. I changed the hard drive to a western digital because it is about have the price. They are very reputable and have good customer service. I changed the cpu to a i5-6700k. This is a lot faster than the cpu you selected. You can also overclock it to about 4.4 ghz with no trouble. For windows 10, you can get it from an authorized reseller. This is a lot cheaper, and still reliable. You can find a list on the Microsoft website. Also, I added a 250 gb ssd. This will make your system significantly faster. You can store importan programs which you use a lot as well as the OS on here for faster load times. For mass storage use the hard drive.

No, not the CX series. It is a newer CXM 2015 series which performs decently, much better than the old EVGA b series and corsair CX series.

Performance is almost equal comparing the CX450m, CX550m and cx650m as they all use the same platform. Unlike the B3 series where the 750w+ versions use a different platform to the lower wattage units.

The cx450m is normally the best PSU in the budget (<$50) range.

- Ryzen 5 1600 is an overall better CPU.
- The 212 EVO is not a good buy, even with the MiR. I suggest the CRYORIG H7.
- If motherboard has 4 ram slots, go with dual channel (2 sticks) ram. Otherwise one stick is fine.
The rest looks fine.

That new list looks a lot better! The new processor and ssd will last you a lot longer even though it's slightly more expensive!
