Hello everyone,

I'm a complete novice looking to build a higher-end PC primarily for gaming/general use. I play basically every genre, but I prefer FPS style games, so I'd like to have a build that can support a 1440p, 144hz monitor that consistently pulls over 60fps on high settings. I already have a Logitech Keyboard and mouse, but I need basically everything else (monitor, speakers, etc.). I'm thinking of just hardwiring this to my router/modem for internet access--I won't need any extra components for this will I (I know I'll need some if I want a wi-fi connection)?

Below is a build that was recommended to me. I was wondering if these are compatible with the peripherals I have and if any upgrades can be made while keeping it at a similar price. I'm from NY and my budget is $2500-$3000.

Thanks!

For a complete novice someone is selling you a system for an experienced overclocker. Hard to believe for the money you are spending that a PCIe NVMe M.2 storage drive is not on the list.

You can also buy an 5.1 Channel A/V Receiver for about $200 and connect it to the digital optical sound output on the motherboard instead of a cheap Logitech setup.

A center channel speaker and subwoofer which are often on sale at lower prices.

I like the center channel speakers! I have a wireless network adapter in the parts list I listed. The motherboard you suggested says it has wireless accessibility--would I still need the adapter as well?

Also are the motherboard/ssd you listed still compatible with the other listed parts? If so what overall difference would swapping this motherboard/SSD have on the build?
