I have a server using an iStarUSA ex2m8 chassis, which has 8 hot swap 3.5 bays that are connected to a backplane with 2 miniSAS connectors. I had accidentally bought a SATA controller instead of one that had SAS ports on it, so I bought a splitter cable to connect the two.
In windows though, none of the drives in the hot swap bays show up (or in disk management). I have all of the drivers installed for the controller, but still nothing.
What gives?
