Hello there! Long time lurker on this website and finally had use to actually post something, and unfortunately it isn't a good thing hah, so basically I bought and not built a new system from a reputable company here in the UK, so I feel I haven't been shafted with faulty or dodgy parts but I guess I shall find out, I'll throw up my full build then go over the issues!

ASUS ROG STRIX Z270F
Intel Core i7 7700K "Kaby Lake" Quad Core with HT Overclocked to 4.8GHz
8GB ASUS STRIX GeForce GTX 1080
16GB Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz DDR4
Corsair H100 with SP120 RGB fans
250GB Samsung 960 Evo M.2 SSD
1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD
Corsair 550W CXM - 80PLUS
Windows 10, 64 Bit
ACER Predator Z271 Monitor

Ok, so basically, I am getting stuttering, sometimes to the point its unplayable, and other times, just enough to be annoying, the three main games I am playing at the moment are Battlegrounds, DayZ and Rust but I have also installed and tried SOMA just to rule out online and offline, I know the games I am playing are in some cases in optimised but speaking with friends in game and real life they seem to think my system shouldn't be struggling or stuttering with them, and many people I have spoke to online have various different systems some slightly worse, some incredibly worse in terms of specs to my system and they are running these games without stutter, I have tried to pull the graphics settings on these games right down and it makes no difference..

Forgot to mention I am playing in 144hz but have tested in 60, 100, 120.. All the same.
I have also played with and without Gsync and Vsync and again, no difference.

I'm sorry if I am forgetting things that could potentially help you help me, I have tried so much I am forgetting to mention others.

Oh I have also disabled all Game DVR related things.

The only things I haven't tried are BIOS related and third party temperature and monitoring apps because I worry I will download the wrong things!

Sorry again for lack of information, ask me anything that can help and I will try my best to respond. Thank you.

Your ASUS gtx 1080 requires one 1 x 6-pin and 1 x 8-pin power inputs. Sounds like you said you only have one 1 x 8 pin which would easily explain your problems of stuttering as the GPU is not getting enough power.

This is untrue. The Corsair CXM 550W has two 6+2 PCIE connectors.

I assume that you've done basic things like update drivers and make sure that you've connected your monitor to the GPU outputs and not the motherboard outputs?

Outside of that kind of thing, your first call should be to the company. *They* put it together for you after all and that warranty of their build is part of what you paid a ton of extra money for. Don't let them rob you.

I do have the up to date Nvidia driver, I was told to check my motherboard driver but couldn't find anything on the website, and yeah my monitor is connected to the GPU :)
