CPU fan error, CPU overheating error, and chassis fan 1 rpm is red in bios?

I'm not very good with computer hardware so please bare with me.

When I turned on my computer I got a CPU fan error and a CPU overheating error. I pressed f1 to go into the asus bios and the chassis fan 1 rpm was ~350 and showing in red, with a CPU temperature of 90 degrees C.

I opened the case, and the fan at the back of the case looks like it's the one running slow.

After turning off/on the computer for the third time, now it runs to desktop. Using HWMonitor it shows the CPU temperature at 35-40, with the sysfan running at 200 rpm. But the maximum temperature is the one I saw in the bios when I started it up the third time, which is much higher (70 celsius).

I thought maybe I could increase the fan speed manually in the bios but I can't for some reason... unless I'm doing it wrong. It is set to "Fast and Quiet" by the way.

Also, If I have to change the fan, can you please tell me how to find out its make and model?

CPU is intel i7 2600k and motherboard is sabertooth p67

Thank you.

You can measure the length of one side from edge to edge and then search for a replacement,
there are thousands of different fans available, personally I like the noctua fan's - they're aren't the best looking but are functionally very good indeed.

also make sure to check the connection to the motherboard, to see if its a 3 or 4 pin connector.

how old is your PC hardware per each item? mobo, case fan, cpu etc.
case fan has life expectancy especially for stock/case default fan will have much shorter lifespan.

I bought all of them at the same time (except for the GPU which is brand new). I don't remember exactly but it's definitely 6+ years.

That is what I was thinking. Do you know how can I tell which type/size of fan I need? And what's a good brand?

Thanks for the help. I looked up my motherboard and it has 3 pin connectors. But I've been looking at fans online and no where does it say if they are 3 or 4 pins...?

if you're going for Noctua as Andy_K suggested. take a look at Noctua web. it has all the fan's specs covered in tables.
