Need help with Battlefield 1 FPS problem

So I have been playing Battlefield 1 with no problems on my new machine averaging 110-115 FPS. I played Friday and everything was good, hat to work on the weekend so I didn't play again until Sunday night and everything is messed up . I have played a bunch of matches Sunday and today and I am only getting 70-80FPS average. I checked my setting and everything is the same but for some reason I am now getting 30-35 FPS lower then I was before.
My specs are
R7 1700x
07pr60 x370 ( It's a dell board )
GTX 1060 6GB
16GB DDR4 2400MHz
I play on a 24" 1080p monitor @ 60Hz.

Like I said, have always been 110-115 FPS and all of a sudden im down to 70-80 FPS .
Im running the latest Bios and drivers.
Anyone have any idea why all of a sudden I would be losing 30-40 FPS when nothing has been changed ?

I always choose Custom Install for my nVidia drivers, and only install PhysX and main driver, because that's all I need.
I have no need for the Hi-Def Audio ( i have a seperate soundcard), nor 3D bs, nor Geforce Experience !

i've pratically the same set up as you, although a 1600x and an Asus mobo. I've the same card etc.

Depending on what map I gane, I get the exact same results. Mostly 70-90, but on one or two maps it's in the low hundreds. The 1600x is slightly higher clocked, so I think your results seem okay. edit: this would be on Ultra at 1080p @60hz

Given what you have said, it must be some setting you've changed, maybe in game, maybe in some GPU Tweak tool. What about temps on the CPU/GPU, have you seen any high spikes?

Temp on the GPU is around 78-80, not sure about the cpu.
My setting are at High @ 1080p @ 60Hz.
I didn't change anything, Played Friday and everything was good, was not home until Sunday night due to work and when I played again it was a huge drop in FPS. I realize that different maps will giver different FPS but I have never experienced any FPS drop of 30-40 FPS.
Was there any patch /update to the game I do not know about that would cause this or is my GPU just taking a dump on me?

did you swap it over to DX 12 from DX11. The DX12 seems to really slow it down. I noticed a substantial drop, so play on DX11 for the higher FPS. Cant really see the difference to be honest with the different DX paths graphically speaking.

Wen you say it dropped. Do you mean it happens a few times per game, or just in general, the over all avg frames? If it's not a frequent drop (in game, havy usage etc) then it really must be a setting that's changed.

But look at the DX12 thing first.

First thig I did was checked my setting and DX. Its still on DX11. When I say dropped I mean overall, through the matches its constant . Just an overall reduction if FPS.
I have been talking to other people in BF1 who are having the exact same problem Since Saturday also, EA put out a small patch/update that day so after talking with many people in BF1 who are having the exact same problem I am beginning to believe the problem is server side. I am hoping once its out a bit they will be able to optimize it better and fix the problem.

didn't see the drop in performance myself. thats not to say it didn't or wouldn't happen.

Funnily enough, Ive been trying to get online to play BF1, and can't get online. I'm connected to the net,and all other games work just fine. Don't figure. Bloody EA......agggghhhh

So just an update, For about 4 days the above problem persisted. Where I was getting 100-115 FPS on High detail it was down to 70-80 FPS. This lasted for 4-5 days then all of a sudden I was back up to 115-120 FPS ( better then what I was before ). Once again, no settings were ever changed on my end so I can only think this was a server side problem and it has been fixed by EA or maybe driver problems fixed.
All in all seems very weird but in the end it has worked out.
Guess 115-120 FPS average in BF1 with a GTX 1060 is not to bad!

See if Nvidia experience did automatically optimized and if just revert and never use this tool for optimizing games. Check your antivirus and check your settings in Nvidia control panel. I had issues two days after I Install drivers for my 1080 ti and my fps dropped dramatically and I found that NVidia changed the settings in the control panel itself for no reason. Hope this advice will help you.

Completely agree with you. I hate Geforce Experience. After optimization it has reduced one or two of my games to an unplayable state. Used that once, and since never again.
