Hello everyone
I'm about to do my first build. The system will be based on the Ryzen 7 1700 cpu with 32 gb of ram. I will use this pc for work and for gaming at 1080p with a 60hz monitor. I'm hesitating between Geforce GTX 1070 and 1060. The 1060 will do the job but I think the 1070 will last longer before I have to upgrade it. I'm just afraid that the 1070 will give too much fps for the monitor to handle, which might result in screen tearing and all that nasty stuff especially that my monitor doesn't have G-sync. What do you guys think?

Solution
You won't have any screen tearing if you enable Vsync. You don't need gsync to remove tearing.
Depends what game you want to play, 1070 is more future proof. And can probably max out almost every well optimized game out there at 1080p 60.

If money is not a problem and you play very demanding games like Witcher 3, get the 1070. The 1060 drops at 45-50 on very demanding areas like forests and forest battles.

Depends on the games you play that a 1060 might exceed refresh as well. Check official benchmarks for an idea.

1070 will last longer yes in games yet to come.

Nvidia inspector is a program where you can hard limit fps without using vsync.
