Router : D-LINK DIR-825 B1/B2
Build : v24 PreSP2 [Beta] 21061 (TRIED WW AND NA)
Modem : TM822 ARRIS DSL
Details :
CHIPSET AR7161
RAM 64MB
FALSH 8MB

So I recently decided to flash my router with dd-wrt and ran into some problems. First problem was that my router comes from my ISP(Videotron) and they blocked my ability to change the firmware if the firmware is not from them so I had to go around and edit the .bin file to change one number so that the D-LINK Recovery Mode would accept my firmware. After I got this to work I got into another problem, my router is not receiving internet from my modem. When I open the user interface, the WAN IP is set to 0.0.0.0 and there's no internet connection. I tried doing the 30-30-30 before and after flashing the router and nothing. I tried cloning and still nothing. So I finally decided to try another build (v24 PreSP2 [Beta] 14896) and it worked. The problem is, this build is completely garbage. My internet speed went from 4.5-5MB/s to 400-300kB/s and the user interface for DD-WRT takes several minutes before loading and it's just impossible for me to operate with that so I have to make the other one work. I tried unplugging the modem and the router and plugging it back 10 minutes later and still nothing. When I plug my cable MODEM -> PC it works perfectly and I tried the factory firmware of my D-LINK and it works perfectly but I can't get this one to work. I read that the build that worked for me is known to be very laggy and reduce drastically my internet connection. I read a bit about bridge mode but I can't get my head around it, I'm new to this (started today) and I tried accessing my modem through my browser and it wouldn't work so I had to unplug my DSL and it finally worked but they have some implemented password that changes everyday so I can't edit anything only see logs and stuff. Anyways, if there's anything I can try to make this thing work it would be wonderful I'm willing to try everything and test stuff. I also turned off firewall and windows defender/ anti-virus. Thank you.

**Another thing, with my router it's kinda weird to do the 30-30-30 because when I do it, the last 30 seconds when I keep the button pushed and plug it, my router enters the Recovery mode so I don't know if that's normal**

Solution
Almost all cable modem just use simple DHCP to give your router a wan ip. I could see someone linked something wrong but this function is so simple it almost can't be a bug. It been a while since I used a dd-wrt image but there generally are logs that have messages about the wan port and the ip it gets...or does not get.

Are you always power cycling your modem between router images. The modem will lock a mac address which may change running different firmware.
