Okay, so im building my first pc and i have everything i need and im planning on using it pretty hard for gaming, mainly with an Oculus cv1. So i want to set this up to have the best possible performance and speed and flexibility.

My specs are as follows:
Case: corsair graphite series 760t fulll tower
Psu: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2, 80+ GOLD 750W, Fully Modular
Mobo: Asus crosshair v formula z
Cpu: Amd fx 8350
Cpu cooler: CM Hyper 212 evo
Gpu: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0, 8GB GDDR5
Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3
Fans: 3 140mm fans in total, 1 in rear pulling air out and 2 in front pushing air in
Hdd: 2tb 7200rpm sata hdd
Ssd: 256gb samsung 850 pro sata ssd
Optical drive: also a standard cd+dvd rw drive
OS: i have to make a windows 10 boot drive with my flash drive b/c I already have windows 10 so im not paying for it again. I have the product key on hand obviously as well.
The front of the case has a fan button that just dims the front fan leds as I already have a rig set up in the case but i want to upgrade EVERYTHING and just swap my current rig into a different case to sell it. The case also has a headphone and mic port on the front, a little circular arrow button which i have no idea what thats for or what it does, 2 usb 3.0 ports, 2 usb 2.0 ports and the power button itself.
If there's anything else i need to add just let me know, I tried to make my first post as thorough as possible considering half the people who post on this forum are very vague about their support requests lol. I could really use the help b/c i dont want to have to fix things by reinstalling windows a million times or ruining my hardware so please PLEASE help me out fellow pc enthusiasts!

You don't need to do anything special to the system, install the OS and programs on the SSD (what will fit), use the slower platter drive for file storage. You should get another drive for backups.

Since you had an R9 290, that is still a good video card, I would have bought a newer CPU and motherboard, and instead of getting the 1070, kept the 290 for a while. When the 290 would feel slow in games, the new cards out then will be faster for the same price or you can get a 1070 for cheaper due to age. $100 is not bad for the setup, but you just are not in the ideal situation with the build now.

Why would you get such an old CPU with such a good graphics card? If you are playing in 1080p that cpu will limit the gpu to about half of it's possible performance. If you can return the cpu Mobo and ram and get a ryzen 5 or core i5/i7.

Honestly i just dont have the money for that stuff to be that updated right now. Thats the only reason i went with such an old cpu n stuff b/c i got a bomb deal tbh. But i did my fair share of research and the asus crosshair is the best motherboard available for that chipset with the best OC capabilities, so i was thinking a good OC on the cpu will help bring it up to par for a little while.

You shot yourself in the foot there, while its a good motherboard, you would have been better off with an Intel i5 and a cheaper motherboard. I would have dropped the RAM to 8 GB total instead of 16 and put the money towards a newer and better CPU. You made a post about putting the system together, but not about picking the correct parts so as not to waste money on old dead-end tech. Getting an old CPU cheap is not saving money, it's losing money since you are stuck if anything is not running well and it is too slow to keep up with the video card.

You said this is your first PC but then you said you already have a rig setup in the case, not really sure what you are asking here, how to hook it up? Tons of guides out there, to connect the case to the motherboard you would follow the manual that came with the case and connect to the headers on the motherboard. Do you have any specific questions here?

Dont get me wrong, I understand 100% im going to be using an ancient platform, i was just able to get the mobo cpu and ram all for $100 total so that was just easier and cheaper than a current upgrade which would be roughly $400. I honestly financed my gpu so im trying to make it all work for now. Im getting a different case for my other hardware, so im putting all the new into the corsair. Ive definitely done my research on everything about this, and i know im a little dumb for it, its just what i have to work with. My current setup consists of a phenom 1100 and r9 290 and it works really well still for its age, so the next gen up should do me well until i can afford the proper upgrade i want. Also, i understand the mobo instructions and all that jazz, like I completely understand how to build it and put it all together, I guess my really question is like how can i make that all the best speed and performance, like ive read about doing weird stuff between the hdd and ssd and putting the OS on either or and im just looking for help on all that super technical stuff. I just want to know whats the best way to set EVERYTHING up for top performance.
