So I had a question about this semi modular power supply from corsair https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817139148. What I'm not sure about is if there is or isn't a correct orientation in which the 6+2pci-e and the 4+4cpu cables need to be plugged into the back of my power supply. Here is a picture of the back of the power supply for you guys https://images10.newegg.com/ProductImageCompressAll1280/17-139-148-24.jpg. I'm just concerned because obviously I don't wanna break my power supply by accidentally plugging my 6+2pci-e cable into the 4+4cpu port on the back of my power supply or vice versa. Or does it just not matter and it will work either way? Please help because what the lables mean on the back are a little vague to me.

The 6+2 PCIE cable has a full 8-pin connector at one end -- that is the one that plugs into the PSU. You can choose whichever of the two bottom sockets in your photo to plug this into as those two are the only 8-pin sockets on there.

The other end of the 6+2 PCIE cable (the ones that can be split into a 6-pin and a 2-pin) is the one that plugs into your GPU.

Now, the 4+4 CPU cable is already attached to the PSU itself (that's why it's semi-modular). If your motherboard only needs either a 4-pin ATX12V or an 8-pin ATX12V, then, simply plug this attached CPU cable into your motherboard's 4-pin or 8-pin socket.
The connections are KEYED in such a way you can't screw it up. Notice the SQUARE and non-Square plugs.

Okay, both are the SAME but that just means you can use either one.

The 4+4 cable however will only fit into the motherboard CPU power slot, and the 6+2 cable only works with graphics cards.

It's vice-versa. You can plug the 6+2 PCIE and/or the 4+4 CPU in any of those two 8-pin female socket from the PSU. The pin-outs are the same in the PSU-side.

The cables are the ones that are different and is re-configured to match the pin-outs on the GPU-side and the MB-side.

So does this picture mean that the 6+2pci-e connectors are plugged in out of the top eight and 4+4cpu connector is plugged in out of those bottom eight? https://images10.newegg.com/ProductImageCompressAll1280/17-139-148-24.jpg
