Im using a i7 4790k and a few days ago my computer was running very sluggish so i went to restart and it came up with an error telling me that the CPU was running too hot (Cant really remember what it said but it was on the American Megatrends screen). I was using a corsair h100 at the time and i replaced it with the stock cooler and was allowing me to boot into windows (Keep in mind that i replaced the thermal paste with arctic silver 5).Now ,when the CPU is under load, it runs over 100C.
Never messed with any of the CPU's functions or tried to overclock it.
Thanks for the help in advance :)
Here are the Real Temp sensor test results:

Solution

Sounds like your h100's pump failed...

Sounds like your h100's pump failed. The stock cooler can't cool the 4790k properly anyways so it going to 100c is normal.

Solution
you need another cooler for your CPU its not like the Life of CPU ends its just you need the new cpu cooler and this time dont go for AIO these coolers are failing too fast we see like 4-5 posts of pump fail every day go for descent air cooler this time so that you dont have to worry about the tempratures

hey i have the same CPu with the same corsair h100gtx water cooler and my cpu at idle is at a nice and calm 45C as im typing to you rn
on chrome, but as soon as i start playing games mostly like PUBG or pretty much any game the Corsair h100 cooling fans RUN at a very loud 100% speed, and my cpu sits at 90-100 the whole time as im playing almost immediately after starting the game.... dont think the Cpu is damaged quite yet but the fans even kick on when i play Runescpae so that tells me somethings really wrong... also my H100Gtx Cooler isnt properly installed on windows 10 or it cannot find the driver online so im jus assuming it works since those fans on it get really loud i hate it.. what could i do to fix or help make it slightly better??? thanks btw for any help given

You should just make your own thread about it but your's pump also is most likely dead or bearly working.
