CPU internet port failing

Is this a desktop or a laptop?
Do you mean that the built-in network port on the motherboard is not working?
Have you made sure that it's the hardware that's failing and not some software problem?

I am still dealing with Comcast. Because the problem is intermittent. The yellow cord that goes from the modem to the port on the back of the computer does not always light up. Also, the modem internet light that displays the acknowledgment of Comcast internet sometimes flashes yellow. At this time I am still trying to isolate the problem.
