Hi, i bought a new Nvidia GT 730 and i am trying to install it to my HP Z600 Workstation. Now, the problem is that when i try to boot the pc alone with the GT730 i get 6 beeps which indicates GPU Problems. But, when i put my old Nvidia Quadro FX 1800 on and i also put this GT730 In the other slot, the pc recognizes the card, even though it does not boot up with it, i can install it and i can also install the Nvidia GForce GT 730 Driver. Now, is there any possibility for me to add the new card without the FX1800, and to make it run alone in my pc?

If you used win10, and if you install the aftermarket GPU, try this: install the fx1800, boot into the BIOS to disable the secure boot and enable legacy boot. Also use DDU uninstall the GPU driver. After that shut down the PC, switch the GPU to gt730. You should be able to boot.
Check the manual to see how to and where you can disable/enable the secure boot/legacy boot.

i was searching all around and i can't find the secure/Legacy boot option for HP Z600. Are you sure that it has it as an option?

So, if i cant disable secure bot from bios, there i no other ways to do it? Because i cant find it in my bios. Is there a kind of workaround?

Sorry, I don't know. But I think we can't, except HP to rewrite/update the BIOS.

I have the 2010 version of my bios, but they have updated to a new bios of 2013, you think that that might be enough?

They list an even newer BIOS dated Apr 14, 2016 on the Windows XP page. But none of the BIOS revisions list anything to do with PCIe compatibility.

And you can forget about Secure Boot or UEFI as you don't have them. They became widely available around 2012 with Sandy Bridge and you have Nehalem. Early EFI implementations (without the U) could be problematic as they had UGA instead of GOP.

The issue is all modern nVidia cards come with a Hybrid BIOS which is supposed to work with both Legacy BIOS or UEFI. In practice, they do seem to work fine with just about any aftermarket PCIe motherboard even going back to Core 2 and Pentium 4. The problem is there are compatibility issues with many OEM boards that don't have UEFI, because those often don't properly negotiate a Legacy boot with the card so it defaults to UEFI which the BIOS can't see (Windows can see any device without an option ROM but just can't boot from it). The MSI 750Ti has a vBIOS selector switch to force Legacy BIOS mode and it seems to work in many cases, or you may wish to consider the Red Team over at AMD.

If i got this right, basically i have to find a GPU That supports old motherboards with BIOS and not only UEFI
