Hey all, I haven't messed around with hardware for almost a decade so I'm a bit rusty. I just upgraded to a 1060 from a 750 (I know) and although it is a vast improvement (14,000 point gain in graphics on 3dMark lol) it's crashing after a couple hours of use in AC: Syndicate and Dishonored 2 so far. They're peaking at about 80 degrees; my question is simply is that too hot for a card to be running or would the crashing be due to something else? (Probably memory it's only a 3GB card).
EVGA 1060 crashing... temp issue?

It wouldn't crash due to VRAM issues. There's some other thing going wrong. 1060 is a lot more power hungry card, so my first assumption is that your PSU can't handle that card under full load. Full specs please.

I bought a new 600w power supply for the card as the last one didn't support pci-e. Also have Intel i5-4460, 8gb ram, 1tb ssd. It was a system I got at best buy on a black friday deal for $300 after my last desktop died and I'm slowly building a new one.
