I currently own an EVGA GTX 770 with an i5-4590 processor. I am looking to improve my graphic settings to Ultra or Very High for FP shooters. I am interested in the GTX 1060 or GTX 1070. I have looked into the ASUS ROG STRIX and the EVGA FTW models. I do not know much about AMD cards, but I am interested in more information on the 580 possibly. What my decision really comes down to is the best quality/price. I don't want to spend more on something that I don't need but I will spend more if it means better quality of life for years to come. Also, I don't know what will bottleneck my CPU. Any suggestions on specific variations from specific manufacturers would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks for your help!

Normally, you won't go wrong with Evga gfx cards. They still have the best warranty, if that matters. All my Nvidia cards are Evga at present. But I have never had a bad gxf card out-of-the-box form any manufacturer. And usually I don't keep them long enough to know what their longevity will be.
If you go with another Evga, and it is a 1060 6GB, look for the FTW+ ACX. Chances are it will come with faster clocks than rated. Mine did.

I'm surprised you can't get (near) 60 fps at Ultra with the GTX 770. But the 1060 6GB might not be enough of an upgrade for Ultra @ 60fps min/avg in the most GPU-limited games. Best move to the GTX 1070. The RX-580 would be a good middle choice if their prices weren't still artificially high due to the bitcoin miners.

1060 for sure a 1070 is only good for 120hz+ or 1440p
the 1050ti actually can get near 60fps on 1080p if you dont have enough money but id say 1060

Thanks for the answers! I think I would prefer to go with a 1060 and save the money for future upgrades (ie. Different case, better cooling, better Cpu, larger SSD, better monitor, basically total overhaul) My biggest dilemma right now is choosing the right 1060. I would prefer either an EVGA (I love my current one) or the ASUS Strix (it seems like a great card) but there are so so many variations, like OC, single or double fans, and many different EVGA variations. I just need some real time answers from people currently in the know. And if you honestly suggest a brand or model that I didn't say, I will most definitely take it into consideration!

Thank you so much for all the help everyone! I actually had my eye on the ftw+ and you set my mind right. I'm truly grateful for all the help, there's a lot of information to process when looking for a GPU and it got kinda overwhelming haha
