I recently started to slowly upgrade my current PC running an i5 4460. The first thing I upgraded was the motherboard, my friend suggested I get the ASRock Fatal1ty Gaming Fatal1ty Z97 Killer:

I also got DDR3 ram, GTX 1060 6gb GPU and a new case to fit all my new components
Ram:

GPU:

Case:

Now my question is, should I upgrade my CPU? And if so should I go for the i5 4670k ($272) or the i7 4790k($355)?
Also if I do end up upgrading, should I go the liquid cooling route?

Solution
I had an i7-4790K + GTX 1060 6GB last year. It was great. I only sold it to get in to crypto-mining or else I'd still be using it. Only issue is I had to buy a better cooler. Cryorig H7 would be the minimum I'd recommend.
Why do you need a new motherboard anyway? What's your current system specs?

You shouldn't be buying a new Haswell processor as they cost more than a new Kaby Lake processor. If you buy Haswell you should buy it used. If you're going to buy a new motherboard and CPU then go ahead and get DDR4 RAM and buy Kaby Lake or Ryzen.

Current system specs:
i5 4460
ASRock Fatal1ty Gaming Fatal1ty Z97 Killer( I know it can't be OC with my 4460)
GTX 1060 6gb
650 watt power supply
75Hz monitor

I wanted to know if it's worth buying the i5 4670k or the i7 4790k?

Oh, so you already have all those parts. Well no worries then. I'd recommend an i7, preferably the 4790K or the 4770K if you don't think you can afford the 4790K. Find a good deal on a used one from a reputable seller on Ebay. 30 day money back guarantee.

I'm not familiar with your case, does it support liquid cooling?

With the i7 you will need an aftermarket cooler. With your case's max cooler height of 160mm, I'd recommend a Cryorig H5 Universal.
