Solution
If it's an online retailer it should say somewhere the current bios version. Check with the retailer if it doesn't say anything. You're going to have to rma if it's not the right bios version, so save yourself the trouble in advance. Or get a different board that came out after ryzen got out. Another option is a mobo with its own on-board graphics that you can use to install the right bios.

Make sure that the revision of the mobo you're getting has already preinstalled version of bios needed to support ryzen 1600. From this list:
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B350-F-GAMING/HelpDesk_CPU/
you need bios version 0401. Without it preinstalled, and with no on-board graphics, you won't be able to get it running with that cpu. I've seen a few threads of people complaining about this as well as about poor customer support with asus. So to bypass all this, confirm the bios version or get a different board.

I've checked, and the CPU is on the list, but how do I check if it is preinstalled or not?
