I'm looking on upgrading to an NVMe SSD, i have 2 choices actually: WDC Black PCIE 256GB or Samsung 960 EVO 250GB. Now my question is that will either of these NVMe SSDs work and perform to their fullest potential with my motherboard? or will their performance be less than advertised due to my outdated hardware? (check my signature for my hardware)

btw, on the manufacturer's site, on the storage tab, it says it has:

1 x M.2 Socket 3, with M Key, type 2260/2280 storage devices support (both SATA & PCIE mode)*1

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Yes, both should work just fine with appropriate drivers, Samsung 960 EVO 250GB is faster but in real use you probably won't see any difference.
