Right now i have a Aspire VN7-791G Black edition laptop. This laptop did not come with a SSD and i plan on getting on. I am also am building a desktop soon(with in a year). I was wondering first, what SSD i should buy and second, if i could switch that SSD to my desktop later on?

Most SSDs in laptops either take the place of the hard drive already inside or have an M.2 slot (look in your manual). If you wanna keep the hard drive, you'll have to buy an M.2 SSD. Samsung is the name of the game for SSDs although they are expensive compared to other brands. Samsung 850 EVO for 2.5" SATA SSDs, and 960 EVO for M.2.

You can switch these to your desktop later if you so please.
