I overclocked my pc to 5ghz now with 0 issues but once i try to overclock my ram to 3200 it wont post after a restart

My specs:
CPU: i7 7700k
GPU: asus 1060 dual 3gb
MotherBoard: Asus rog strix z270h
Ram: Corsair vengence led 3200 16gb
Cooler: Cooler master Master Liquid 280m
PSU: Corsair cx650M 650w

Solution
Your RAM may be bad, but maybe not. Again, just because it says it is rated for XXXXmhz, does not mean it will get there. If you can, you might want to take it back. But it could be something to do with your board.
Is your system completely dead when you try to turn it on? Or is it running a loop to post?

Try taking out your battery on the motherboard for a few minutes and then put it back in.

You should not have issues with the PSU and the PC posting, unless there is a problem with the PSU.

it turns on im right now using it but if i were to change the ram hz it would not post after a restart or shut down i would have to turn off and on the powersupply

Are you running XMP or are you setting the speed manually? I don't understand why flipping the switch on your PSU changes it from posting to not posting. There may be an issue with the PSU. RAM can be very finicky also. Just because RAM is rated at a certain speed does not mean you will get that speed.

Did you change the BCLK when you overclocked your CPU? That will impact your RAM as well. I don't recommend overclocking the BCLK as the math gets fuzzy when you change the multiplier from 100.

There is an XMP profile setup in your bios. All you have to do is enable XMP and it will overclock your RAM automatically. You wont have to change any of the frequency.

If you have a problem running XMP, then restore the system to factory defaults in the bios. The enable XMP as the OC may be affecting it someway. After you enable XMP, go back try the overclock again. I have a 7700k and I get 5ghz at 1.34 volts. So just change the multiplier to 50 and set your volts and you should be good to go.
