Pc crashes, blue lines across screen before, while, and after loading windows (not while logged on windows), code 43 on my GPU GTX 770 2gb. Can only see screen by using HDMI cable.

Tried unplugging, and plugging in the GPU, tried to reinstall drivers.
Pc more or less works fine in safe mode.
Very difficult to get the pc to load normally.

Tried to look for malware using anti-malware malwarebytes - nothing

Uninstalled quite a lot of apps - nothing.

Nothing has worked so far.

Also seen that people have mentioned that this could have something to do with VRAM.
How f'ed am I? Do I need to get a new GPU?

Help is much appreciated and as quickly as possible too!

if you can make a USB drive with linux on it, you can boot to linux and verify the same behavior. if however linux work properly and is pristine, the issue is software. if linux exhibits the same behavior observed in windows, the card is failing.

linux mint is easy to navigate and Rufus is the tool to extract the ISO to the USB and make it bootable.

Just going to say that it doesn't seem logical that a power supply issue would be the case, seeing as though I've had this comp for around 2 years now, and this problem popped up 2 days ago.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from ZodiacHide : "Code 43 GTX 770"

Hello again,
I just recently tested switching the slot in which the GPU is plugged in, and the system managed to boot Windows, but then after maybe 20 sec I get a black screen.

I'll try another GPU my brother has, and test it my 770 on another computer.

Just a shame that the GPU is most likely dead.
