I have a rather new pc from cyberpowerpc that I purchased 5 months ago, https://i.imgur.com/n7Q3Q85.png <--- this is the list of my pc parts for anyone wondering, and when I play on GTAV max settings not overclocked I see temperatures of up to 85-95c. My ambient temp is around 75-85F as I live in florida and it gets pretty hot. I have air cooling not liquid as I'm a first time pc gamer and did not know how to mess with liquid cooling and didn't want to mess my pc up. But should my pc be running this hot just with gtaV not overclocked?

Solution

1. With normal ambients of say 70F ... 75 - 80C is not a big deal... your 85F ambient will add 8C ... that's high but more is at play here as you are seeing 95C.

2. Like most novices , your are...

what cpu cooler do you have ?
95c is NOT OK please don't game on this pc until you fix the proplem
also
according to intel don't ever try to overclock the i7 700k as it's not made for overclocking

If the ambient is 75-85F then you will see higher temps than most, the best coolers can do is bring the temps down to ambient.

The best thing would be to get AC in the room with the computer.

There aren't any refrigerated air coolers that I am aware of, neither liquid or air.

I'd be talking to Cyberpower. But what can they do? Have you send in the whole PC on your dime so they can fix it? It's 5 months after purchase. Why are you asking us now? New issue or newly discovered? Does it help if you leave the front of the case open? Apparently you are using the stock fan. I'd purchase a Cryorig H7 and replace the original cooler with that.

^ - According to the OP, the ambient is "75-85F" (Fahrenheit) which is equal to ~24-30C (Celsius). This means OP has a temp delta of 61-65C.

2. Like most novices , your are under the impression that CLC liquid cooling improves CPU temps ... it does not.

3. Your cooler and most others in that price tier (i.e. Cryorig H7) are "great coolers for the money", but the emphasis lies on those last 3 words. A Scythe Fuma ($45) or Scythe Mugen Max ($37) will drop those temps by 11 - 12C ober the 212 and H7. Better than any CLC type liquid cooler under $100 and match or better the $90 flagship air coolers (Noctua NH-D15 and Cryorig R1 Ultimate)

4. What case and case fans ? Number, location, Intake / Exhaust ?

Solution

Yeah I know, but if the room is that hot it's asking a lot of any cooler to bring down the temps THAT much under load.

Temps I was talking about are idle.

All any cooler and case fan is going to be doing is pushing hot air around if it's 85F in the room. (Should be 68-75F ideally)

He needs a massive cooler like what was posted AND AC in the room.

I am running mine at 4.8 GHz, guess I should turn it back down..... NOT. :D

I have not had a chance to truly game up until recently that's why.

I did think of this and decided to tap into the air duct and brought some ac closer to the pc bringing the idle temp from 40c to 30c
and the max temp I see is still around the high 80c marker

LOL, The (K) in 7700K means it's for overclocking because it has unlocked multipliers.

That is better. :)

Still need a better cooler though.

Case: CyberPowerPC AZZA 260S Mid-Tower Gaming Case w/ Full-size Tempered Glass Panel Window + 7 color
as for the fans it just says default case fans, only one fan it's in the back top location, as for the intake and exhaust i'm still rather new to this all so i'm not entirely not sure how to answer that.
But would scythe cpu cooler be better then my current Cooler Master Hyper 212?

The main problem I see is that your ambient temps are high and the case does not have good intake airflow. Have you tried opening the front cover and seeing if your temperature drops? The little air slots on the front of the case doesn't seem to allow a lot of air in.

Please why are so many clueless people responding to this question? AC air is already dehumidified that's why it's called an air conditioner, it conditions the air.

Hm. I've seen more than a few AC vent covers that were sweating. I also know that 58F vs 120F can cause possible issues.

It isn't a dehumidifier. That much you know.

I've been there

All I am trying to say is that condensation is a possibility. And then I am called clueless. I even love to cook...

PS Those temps. were not caused by an AC unit.

Here's' the clue. When talkin about AC and PC cooling there's two scenarios.

a) You have an AC on the room which is used to cool the ambient air; this cause no concerns about condensation.

b) You have an AC which is used to cool the radiator and / or the water in it. This gives you component surfaces with surfaces that are cooler than the surrounding air. Since the AC is being used cool the water, not the air, and the warmer air retains more humidity (its not been conditioned or dehumidified) this will always result in condensation.

I can only assume the statement that said

There aren't any refrigerated air coolers that I am aware of, neither liquid or air.

was responsible for the condensation comment and if so, it's right on target.
