Multiples showing in device manager

I show 4 processors in the device manager. All drivers are the same with the same dates. The same is true for sound, video and game controllers. I don't seem to have any problem but don't know why these devices are showing up multiple times.

The CPU is easy. You either have a 2 core CPU that runs 2 threads each (i.e. 4 total) or 4 cores running 1 thread each (4 total). The device manager is just showing all physical and logical cores. The others depend on your mobo hardware and it's configuration and the peripherals that you have attached. It's not unusual because the operating systems needs monitor all the hardware and physical ports, even if the port doesn't have a device plugged into it.

That certainly makes sense for the processor since I have a quad core processor. Would that be the same for my NVIDIA high definition audio? I show 5 identical entries here, all with the same driver and date.
