Hi everyone, I'm a Computer Science major so I'll be doing a lot of coding and I'm starting to get into game development. I'm looking to build my first custom PC for gaming as well as coding and Unity development. I've been using my laptop and it's just not cutting it anymore so that's why I want to get a good PC but I'm not trying to break the bank either. I was planning on ordering a custom built setup but my friend recommended posting on here to get some other opinions. For gaming, I plan on running most modern games on ultra settings, no 4K, and at least 60 fps. Also I'm not sure what PSU I should get either. Links to sites with good price parts would be great. [strike][/strike]Thanks!

These are the specs I was looking at:
Motherboard: MSI Z270 A-PRO ATX
CPU: Intel® Quad Core™ i5-7600 Processor
Memory: Xidax Extreme DDR4 2666MHz Memory - 8gb
Power Supply: Unsure
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti 4GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB - 7200RPM 3.5" HDD
SSD: Xidax Performance SSD 250GB

Solution
If you take advantage of some deals you can actually get 16gb of ram.

My budget is $1,000. But I'm willing to go a little over if necessary. Thanks.

Reasons for part choices:
CPU: for game development, the 2 extra cores, and 8 extra threads should help everything run smoothly. The single core performance is slightly lower than intel (around 5%), but is easily justified. You can also overclock.

Motherboard: decent and cheap, with overclocking support

RAM: you shouldn't need more than 8gb, and Ryzen is reliant on memory speed. You can always upgrade it to 16gb at a later date

SSD: an SSD will make a huge difference to load times and general snappiness. An 850 evo is the best non-NVME drive out there, and 250gb is a good sweet spot for price.

HDD: 7200RPM is fast enough for bulk storage

GPU: The 1060 6gb is not horribly overpriced (like the Rx 580), but still offers very good performance

Case: the 270R is one of the best cases you can get for that price (although if you want a window you can go for the 100R)

PSU: the EVGA B3 is an incredibly good power supply for the price, even exceeding the seasonic model mentioned earlier

i5-7600 has a locked multiplier that makes OC difficult. You don't need a Z270 CHipset with that. You can use a H270 Chipset model.

Supported memory for Core i5-7600 is DDR4-2400MHz not DDR4 2666MHz.

Solution
old I5 is not worth buying anymore... Ryzen is best bang for the bucks right now and Ryzen 1600 has 6 cores, come with decent cooler for OC. You can OC with this beautiful MSI board also. SSD for gaming and booting will make it much faster, samsung is the best. Let me know if you have any questions.

Quality parts, full 16Gb of ram, 2Tb hdd, very good case, and color matched. Added fans for top mount cooling for effective airflow. The ram uses Samsung B-die chips, which to date are the most compatible high speed ram made for Ryzen cpus.
