I'm a massive multitasker here in my home office over 3 monitors:

Often have upwards of 15 apps running at same time, including Photoshop, illustrator, Outlook, Excel, word, powerpoint, google chrome with 10 tabs loaded and stock trading software streaming a ton of data when marketing is open.

Reason for wanting to upgrade is faster switching between apps, etc. For instance have some very complex spreadsheets and just adding a row can take 5 min for excel to process.

I'm currently running A10-7850K, 16GB mem, no GPU, with 512MB ssd as boot drive; my internet is AT&T gigabit.

What would you suggest for a CPU change?

Would I see a significant boost from i7, Ryzen 7 or Xeon?

If you have to upgrade right now, performance to cost, the Ryzen 1800 is the best bet for the torture you put your computer through.

If you can wait, wait to see the comparisons when the new Intel I7's come out this year with their higher core count i7's.

Also I'd look at the recommended hardware your trading software. It may be optimized or need something specific from it's hardware to preform better.

Ryzen 1800 is likely your best bet, with the extra cores over the i7 providing a better experience for productivity. Maybe consider also upgrading to 32gb of high speed ram as this will help for multitasking! Hope this helps
