I will be using a Intel 4790K I would like to upgrade
to a CPU fan with higher volume. A guy on ebay had a fan from a Lonovo Thinkcenter. He states it is more volume then stock but I can not fin specs. for this fan all he knows is it works on a 1150 sockect with the spring over screw type. So what should I look at. I understan the new type shake due to the plastic fasteners. So what is the best fan for 1150 and not have to take out the motherboard. thanks all. Sorry for the earlier confusion

If you're counting out coolers with backplates then you will be limited in your choice. I haven't had a lot of time to research coolers with pushpins, I just remember having an ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 cooler that had pushpins. It wasn't enough for my 4790K though.

Maybe this will be an upgrade for you. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU Cooler: ARCTIC - Freezer Xtreme Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.39 @ OutletPC)
Total: $29.39
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
