so guys after a long time with console gaming, i decided to build a gaming pc: here are the specs:

cpu: i7700k 4.2 ghz

gpu: msi nvidia gtx 1070 gaming x oc 8gb

cpu cooler: corsair hydro h100i v2

motherboard: asus prime z270-p

ram: hyperx fury 2x8gb ddr4 2400 mhz

ssd: samsung 850 evo m.2

power supply: antec 650w active modular 80+ gold

case: corsair spec alpha gaming mid tower

so guys everything is fine here? this pc is capable of 90+ fps on most games? will i expect low fps for some reasons, as these guys claim in the forums.

It is very good but the new Coffee Lake CPU's are rumoured to be out in October the replacement to the 7700k is a 6 core, 12 thread 8700k. Effectively 50% more cpu. It will need a new 300 series motherboard. If you can wait I would.

This build will crush all games at 1080p. If you want 1440p you'll get 90+fps in any game you want to play. What monitor are you pairing it with?

This will be a very good PC. You may want to consider the Samsung 960 EVO NVME SSD instead of the 850 EVO you have selected. The 850 is a very good SSD, but the NVME SSDs are faster and they are very similar in price to the 850.

I would also look at getting a different PSU. I am not a big fan of Antec. With PSUs, you really get what you pay for and a poor quality PSU can damage your components. I would look at a Corsair, EVGA, or Seasonic PSU.

Yes, it is Canon not Coffee Lake that is pushed back to late 2018.

Yeah, they also have a Ice lake. So that makes Skylake, Kabby Lake, Coffee Lake, Cannon Lake, and Ice Lake. Maybe they need to bring in a consultant to help with more variety in their code names.

Intel has got the stupidest naming system. Clearly some Ftard is doing it. They went from Bridge to Well to Lake. So Ocean is next. Just useless and without logic. I think AMD got wise to Intel's stupidity and named the new model X370 to piss off Intel...cuz we know 370 was next.

With the 7700k + gtx 1070 you'll get 144fps in lots of games on that monitor. Consider in the future switching over to 1440p some day.
