I currently have Asus Rog Strix GTX 1080 A8G with Intel Core i7-7700k, I have 144Hz monitor (Acer predator xb281hk), 16GB tridentz RGB (8x2).

I was wondering if I can run 4k games on single GPU card? Games such as Rise of The tomb Raider & Witcher 3. I never set these two games into 4K UHD because I afraid single card GPU won't manage it & I can't OC because my mobo is Asus Rog Strix H270F. I not into OC because can reduce the lifespan of CPU.

Solution
(For regular overclocking, the amount of accelerated wear and tear of the CPU is very small. So where a CPU could last 13 years it might last only 11.)

You can run any game at 4k, however you'll have to lower quality settings to high or even medium to get a playable experience.

Honestly, if you want 60fps gaming at 4k you will have to dial back the setting or get a 1080ti. I would use a 1080 for 1440p high refresh rate gaming. It is perfect for it.

However, you do know that your monitor is not capable of producing 4k images? There are no 144hz 4k monitors available.

You know that this is a 1080ti review, not a 1080? There was only one title that the 1080 got over 60fps.

Also, the CPU is not nearly as important for 4k gaming as the bottleneck is moved from the CPU to the GPU at higher resolutions.
