I was wondering if I should go for the intel core i5 7600k or the ryzen 5 1600 if I'm not really gonna stream.

Solution
If you look at reviews its a bit slower for gaming then the intel BUT faster at multi tasking (like workstation stuff). Also make sure you update bios and use decent ram (I am using 3200Mhz ram) as the Ryzen really likes the faster ram.. I have read the intel cpu does not matter as much for the ram speeds.

That review is old, after the game optimizations in the following months aswell as BIOS updates, Ryzen 5 is now beating Core i5s everywhere.

Here is a review from PC Gamer, a reputable review site, that was completed a month ago. The 7600 beats the 1600x by about 15% on average. The 16 games tested, only one game did the 1600x beat the 7600k and that was by 1.5fps.
