Best Performance in laptop by ram

My laptop has intel pentium quad core N3540(upto 2.66) processor with 2gb ddr3 ram. Now I want to increase ram as it have 2 slots. I can upgrade it to 8gb. Should I upgrade it to 8gb or 6gb. Actually I want to know how much performance is affected If I go for 6gb(installed+4gb) instead of 8gb.

There is only one slot in the Acer Aspire E5-511 Series laptop. If you are sure it has two slots, then you can add a 4GB stick along with the installed 2GB stick.

6GB will give you the most potential out of this laptop. I would go for the maximum 8GB though.
