the request could not be performed because of an i/o device error

Well i got the same problem as other but i dont even see my HDD when i go to This PC>Devices and drives i only see my SSD. got my HDD with power and sata cabel ofcourse, but on disk manager he can see it, at the last: on Disk management he sees it aswell but Unknown that is were the error is: the request could not be performed because of an i/o device error (when i want to initialize the disk. please help me :)
 
Solution
When you say that the install wasn't possible in that drive do you mean that you tried and it failed or that you didn't want to install windows into it?

If it's the former, your drive probably has the first sectors damaged and if you were using it before as storage then there's a big chance that it wouldn't be using those damaged sectors with the files you were handling at the moment. When you attempted to install Windows again, the installer tried to format the drive and failed because of the damaged sectors. It's not an accurate explanation but it's just my guess of what could have happened with what you describe.

well i used it before it was fine, then reinstall windows and it wasnt possible on that hard drive, so i guess i can throw it away :) but yeah i will try other pc in a moment
