Is a gtx 970 still hold up and will it for a while

Im looking for a card around $250 to 300 and i want to know if a gtx 970 still holds up and gets pretty good fps on medium to high settings on games like, Dark Souls 3, Arma 3, Player Unknown Batllegrounds etc.

I would but i want to do an play a lot of games but cant run it, so I dont really want to wait

if GTX970 can not run the game, GTX1060, 1050, 1050Ti should also be not able to run those games.
GTX970 is still somewhere between GTX1060 3GB and GTX1060 6GB.
Thus, GTX1060 6GB is still even not really a worthy upgrade for GTX970. I would not pay about USD300 only for 15% more fps.
Something is telling me, that you could have other problems with your rig.
The only worthy upgrade starts from GTX1070, which is about 60-80% faster than a GTX970.

May I ask which games you cannot run? I only ask as the 970 is like tier 4 on the hierarchy chart here at Tom's just as my R9 290 is (with an i5 2500k) and I am not too unhappy with it. Sure, BF1 needs the details tweaked down a little for nicer fps but it still "AUTO's" to ULTRA. In the meantime nothing else is really troubling my rig. Or is it that you are pushing for resolutions higher than 1080 or perhaps have that 970 partnered up with an even older CPU?
