So I was cleaning the inside of my case and had to unplug various cables and accessories. With so many cables, I sometimes forget what goes where and I can't start my PC because I guess some of the cables aren't plugged in properly. Anyway, I finally manage to fix that issue and my PC starts. But it's now restored to a point from 2 years ago. I tried doing a system restore but it can't find a restore point in the current time.

What can I do to fix this issue?

Solution
So apparently, one of my SATA connectors connected to the wrong socket so it created this issue. Once I was able to connect it to the right socket on my MOBO then everything was fine. It's so confusing trying to keep track of what goes where inside!

System Specs?

And a more detailed description of what exactly happened. You connected it all back and when restarted, it just loaded into a 2 year old backup or did it start restoring it and showed something else on screen?

So, in short, you have another disk drive, which has a 2 year old backup of your OS? I'd suggest you to update that backup, and I'm still curious what to do if someone does accidentally restore into a 2 year old backup... Glad that your problem is solved.

So it would seem that 2 years ago, you did a clone to, or a new install on a new drive?
And left the original drive with the original bootable OS in there?

I've seen this before.
And it led to the same confusion as you see.
