Hi.

I´ve posted about this before, but had resolved it by reinstalling the display driver. However, yesterday I experienced a few more crashes (which were due to Avast! Antivirus) and in the process of figuring out what was wrong, I ended up reinstalling the display driver again. Now, the issue is back.

I´m getting no BSOD, but an error at nearly every cold boot, "your system did not shut down correctly" and a restart. Naturally I tried removing the Nvidia driver again (using DDU in safe mode), but what happened next is my PC would not start at all, and fixed itself rolling back to the previously installed driver.

An analysis from WhoCrashed shows the following information;

On Fri 9/22/2017 8:24:07 AM your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\092217-8548-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys (nvlddmkm+0x158C4C)
Bugcheck code: 0x116 (0xFFFFFA8010A4C010, 0xFFFFF8800F43FC4C, 0x0, 0x2)
Error: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR
file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\nvlddmkm.sys
product: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 385.69
company: NVIDIA Corporation
description: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 385.69
Bug check description: This indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 385.69 , NVIDIA Corporation).
Google query: NVIDIA Corporation VIDEO_TDR_ERROR

System Specifications (using Speccy): http://speccy.piriform.com/results/zbbjRQGqOqrXasvPq63N6Ot

Update: I asked around on GeForce forums too, and a user says the issue could be due to the power supply. Can anybody provide a second thought?

Thank you for any info. Nvidia drivers really haven´t taken a liking to my PC.

Rowan
