is windows defender good enough?

so i currently have bitdefender and it block a game access to something and so i lost all my progress i've had bad experience with other anti virus software so i just wanna uninstall bitdefender and just use windows defender i will keep malware bytes though but is that good enough? i don't do any piracy or torrents the most risky thing i do is get mods for pc games is it okay to use that? thanks!

Most third-party firewalls allow you to block or allow internet access for individual applications & games - - you just have to be prepared to configure it yourself by navigating through the firewall's settings instead of expecting the firewall to automatically know what you want it to do.

Although I will admit some firewalls aren't very user-friendly when it comes to configuring them the way you want.

Thanks but I'd rather just uninstall it bitdefender has been nothing but trouble since I got it like I said I only download mods I don't do anything else I certainly don't do anything risky like pornography or torrents or anything like that I don't need the best if it's good enough then it's fine by me

Windows' Firewall seems a tad more aggressive these days, epsecially the last week or two, as it seems to be adopting a 'block first, ask questions later' mode...

Which I'm fine with putting the connection decision in the users' hands....; most know Dropbox and Chrome are not malicious connections, etc...
