Hello guys and gals,
thanks for time in advance regarding this. I have a 850W Corsair PSU (CS850M) which provides me only 1x8Pin power for CPU (can be split into 2x4pin). Now my motherboard has 2 CPU plugs. One named ATX12V_1 (4 PIN) and ATX12V_2 (8 PIN) .

I read in the manaul that if i have 2x4 pin i can put one in ATX12V_1 and ATX12V_2. So i did that . However when turning on the power the whole lighting of the motherboard starts for 2 seconds and nothing works more.

I have a GPU GTX 1080 too , i see green light turned on there. No problem with it. But not case for the motherboard.

My Motherboard is GigaByte X399 AORUS Gaming 7 rev 1.0 .

Just wanted to know what i am doing wrong ?
Or i have burned the motherboard or something like that ?

Once again, thanks for time.

With regards,
Sam

In the Gigabyte X399 Aorus Gaming 7, the ATX12V_1 is the 8-pin; the ATX12V_2 is the 4-pin.

The additional 4-pin is usually used for extreme overclocking and is often an optional 12V power connector for such cases.

You should use all your 2 x 4pin power connectors from your PSU on the 8-pin socket of your motherboard (i.e., the ATX12V_1). See page 25 of your manual where pins 1, 2, 5 and 6 of the 8-pin ATX12V_1 socket is for 12V supply from 2 x 4pin 12V power connectors.
