Hi
I cannot decide what to do. I want a I7-7700K and currently is on sale at $309. Should i take the chance and get it now? Or should I try my luck to see if it will drop even more during Black Friday weekend or Cyber Monday.

Thanks Guys!

Most folks would be irked if they bought now, and then the 8700K released near the same price point with two more cores and 200 more MHz just 10 days later...

I'd wait and evaluate...

(But, $309 is a good 7700K price, to be sure; and, as for $279...wow! I'd buy another 'just because'!)

Sorry guys, i dont see a buttom (maybe because of using cellphone) i can click to reply each of your msg so i just post everything here.

Currently my rig is
CPU - I5-6500
Motherboard - Asus H170 ProGaming
GPU - GTX 1080 FE
Ram - HyperX 8GB DDR4
Storage - 1TB Samsung 850 EVO, 480gb Sandisk extreme, and 1 TB HD
PSU - Seasonic 850W Gold
Monitor - 1080P but planning to get a 1440P during BlackFriday

I usually do some casual gaming like WOW, Battleground, CSGO, and upcoming Destiny 2. I also have Oculus Rift so sometimes i do some VR games. Upgrade CPU from 6500 to 7700k may not wise but i feel 6500 is weak for WOW and Battleground. Also especially weak for VR if i turn on 1.5 SS with GTX 1080. Other than those, just trying to top it off and step into I7.

I know my motherboard will not support OC but i dont plan to change it yet. Im cool with 7700K’s stock clock speed for now until I upgrade my motherboard and DDR5 Ram at the same time in the future.

I live in Hawaii so No Micro Center near me :(. Right now Amazon is on sale for $299.89. I am not sure if it will drop even more during blackfriday. I can totally wait and see but im worrying about the resale value of my 6500 may drop at that time.
Also, if i get 7700k for stock clock speed, the Corsair H60 cooler will be enough? Or i should get the Corsair 240mm version.

Thanks!
