I'm playing Hitman Absolution on my laptop. My specs are as follows:
Intel Core i7-4720HQ CPU @2.60Ghz
8GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M
On "Ultra" mode, with 1920x1080 resolution, MSAA 8x and V-Sync on, I get around 30-40FPS.
If I use Nvidia GeForce Experience, it recommends almost the same options, but drops the MSAA down to 2x. With this, I get around 30-45FPS.
If I drop the settings further to "Very Low", I get around 45-60FPS.
If I keep the settings at "Very Low" and drop the resolution all the way down to 1024x768, I'm *still* only getting around 50-60 FPS.
Regardless of which of these options I'm using, the game *feels* sluggish. When I walk it feels like the screen is just constantly flickering as I move. I followed various threads online which talk about how this game is very GPU intensive, but even so this seems very low for my specs. The benchmark guide I was following seemed to suggest I should be getting much more out of my hardware than I am.
Can anyone provide any guidance on what I could do to improve my specs? For what it's worth, the laptop is always plugging in to charge when I'm playing, with Power Options on Windows 10 set to "High Performance" (but at default configuration for "High Performance").
Edit: Laptop is using DirectX 12.
