Hi,

recently I bought a Asus Strix B350-F Gaming motherboard and a Ryzen 5 1600 Cpu. I also want to get an AIO watercooling loop but I can't really get one in my country that supports AM4 out of the box. I did notice that the motherboard seems to have a plastic part above and below the CPU socket that looks similar to the bracket that my old AM3+ heatsink mounted on.

Can anyone tell me what those plastic brackets are for? I was wondering if they could be adapters that would allow you to mount an AM3+ or some other type of heatsink to the Ryzen CPUs.

Solution
The plastic brackets are for the stock coolers that are included with the CPUs. You could use your Ryzen 1600 with the cooler included in the box until an AIO with AM4 support becomes available to you.
