hello everyone, i am trying to realise what is the best way to keep safe all my photos and videos on my pc. What to do if my hdd or ssd dies, or if i reinstall my system and i have no backup. I hate to back up my files. Is there some way to put my photos and videos on some internet drive. I am looking forward to your answers. Thanks in advance. :D

Solution
RAID 1 - you can setup another hard drive in RAID 1 which means that 2 hard drives will do the same thing at the same time with no input from you. one drive dies and all the data is secure on the second. complex - expensive - instant - secures against single drive failure. you will want a mirrored volume not any others for 2 drive backup

if you upload to the cloud I would encrypt the data first and secure it in a password protected archive like a .rar or a .zip file. once the data is on a cloud it will be available for anyone with the means to get it.

" I hate to back up my files."
Sorry, but this is exactly what is needed. Preferably a fully automated backup, on a schedule.

All drives die eventually. Or you get a ransomware virus. Or some other corruption.
Data that exists on a single drive may be said to not exist at all.

I have used a program called allwaysync. I use it for syncing folders on my system to an external drive.

I don't even recommend syncing since accidentally deleting a folder of photos deletes it off the sync'd drive. A normal backup that copies new files is the way to go. You can manually clean up the backup if necessary.

Same applies to raid 1 - that's availability, not a backup.

I run raid 1 that I back up to an external that's only physically connected during backups.

I don't really recommend a RAID 1 as the only form of "backup". Cause it ain't a backup.

It only wards off data loss in the case of a physical drive fail. It does not protect against all the other, more common, forms of data loss.
Accidental deletion, virus, ransomware, etc.

I am a photographer and I use BackBlaze B2 (More of a super cheap enterprise storage with no interface), but I would recommend using the normal BackBlaze which is $5 per month. It will backup everything on your PC, is super easy to setup (not much setup needed), and is truly unlimited.

It is designed to make a copy of your PC or drives and NOT to be used as a 'Backup everything to cloud and then delete it from PC'.

Here ya go! https://www.backblaze.com/cloud-backup.html
