That Cpu is very Weak depending on games you're playing. I would try to go for i5 at least, maybe shed the extra 500 gb HD scrap up extra 25 dollars. Gpu is alright also 1050 ti would be better. Guess not much you can do with 500 budget
Finstar much better build lol,i know personally i would want to stick with SSD as my main Os drive. Make a huge difference in booting up and speeds with loading.

For a 500$ gaming pc a HDD is just fine.
As for a higher end cpus, every Ryzen 5 will outperform their i5 counterparts.
MERGED QUESTION Question from gavingatesbill : "Is this a good gaming pc?"

Better cpu gpu power supply more ram almost same price.
Yours is fine. Are you going to update RAM latter? If not, 2x4 GB will be cheaper. How soon are you going to update CPU? There are more cost-effective chips if you consider AMD as well.
Personally I will go with any Ryzen 1200 + 1050 Ti setup since you can upgrade to better Ryzen with lower price than Intel but similar functionality.

1x8gb ram is normally cheaper than 2x4gb...
OP, I suggest a better power supply, such as the Corsair CX450M
mlga91 :
Some minor changes to fit a 1050 ti at that price point:
The CX 450 performs better than that evga PSU, and it's actually cheaper, as another suggestion, i'd stay away from SSDs at that price point, 120 GB is almost nothing, you should better aim for a 240GB unit later.

Any reviews of the Corsair CX CWT version? I wouldn't recommend any PSUs without professional reviews providing evidence.

That is way too much for those parts given what you already own.
This build will perform better. Plus it replaces that old and low quality PSU with a much better built one. I know it is tempting to keep that old unit. When a PSU dies. It can take everything else out with it. Better to sell it for $15 on eBay.
Heck if your old PC still functions. Sell it for $100 to $150. Then get a new case and new hard drive.
Would just get a gtx 1050 over the Rx 560 in that build and then you're good.

It really depends on what type of gaming you will do. On most games you probably wont hit solid 60 FPS but you will 45 I guess. The SSD should speed it up too. The 1050 would be better too, for the same price.
