Rebooted my XP d/t sluggish performance - now, even after using the original CD-Rom software, my computer will not hardly
function - will not hardly open any websites stating 'no data ' in the site - downloads will not download, Windows Updates will
not download. I've rebooted before with no problem.

Which version of XP are you using? 32bit XP ServicePack3 or 64bit XP SP2?
opening websites, downloading and updates are all connected to an internect connection - as those are the only problems you mention can I assume that anything off-line (e.g. playing a game from your harddisk, writing a letter with word) work without problems?

Thank you for replying. My XP is a 32 bit; none of the ServicePacks will download - nothing will download. I am connected to the
internet via Charter/Spectrum. I do not work off-line and never have. Should not the Windows Updates update when requested?
Any help will be much appreciated as this is a catastrophe in my life.
