Hey Guys, I'm looking to buy a new CPU / Motherboard. I have about 350 (351.53), and I want to buy a better CPU and Motherboard. I currently have the i5-4690k overclocked to 4.0 GHz. And the Z97-G45 Gaming Motherboard by MSI.

I have the GTX 1070 FTW by EVGA and 16GB of DDR3. (Not looking for DDR4 yet)

I need something that can accommodate 6 SATA 3.0 devices (3 HDD and 3 SSD)

I have a 750 PSU by corsair and an ATX case. And an H55 cooler from CORSAIR.

-WHAT IM LOOKING FOR-

I'm looking for an ATX board with six SATA ports and a few PCI 3.0 slots.

For a CPU I'm looking for more threads/cores and an equal or higher clock speed. I want faster and better for Gaming and Twitch Streaming (also video editing every once in a while)

P.S: IT CAN BE INTEL OR AMD, but I'm more of an intel guy

THX for all your help guys!

Solution
Thx for all your help guys! I got some help from my local microcenter and they recommended to go with a
1600X (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XKWT7GD/ref=crt_ewc_title_gw_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER}, a MSI Gaming AMD Ryzen X370 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WGS4FJL/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER), and 16GB of DDR4 at 3200MHz (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0143UM4TC/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER)

I can pay for it by selling my CPU and MOBO. How does this setup sound with the 1070?

P.S. Thx for all your suggestions, I read through all of them!~

I agree with 13thmonkey, there isn't a huge increase in speed between Haswell and Skylake/Kabylake. Since you don't have much of a budget, buying an i7-4790k and keeping the rest of your system is probably the best bang for your buck. Then you could always sell your 4690k and use that money for like an H110 cooler. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

If you arent looking to upgrade your ram, your options are pretty limited and i would suggest just upgrading your cpu to an i7 4770k or 4790k which are still decent cpus, although still quite expensive for older chips. The new chipsets (intel 6th, 7th, and the new upcoming 8th gen, and amds ryzen offerings) require ddr4. I could suggest ryzen 5 1600 a b350 motherboard and 16 gb of ddr4 for about 400$, its the best bang for your buck at the moment. Its base clock is only 3.2 but they are decent overclockers and come with 6 cores and 12 threads.

So you're buying a new system with less memory, that performs worse, except in heavy multi core. And requires a complete reinstall, vs a CPU swap.

No what I'm suggesting it a CPU that performs better when streaming for both the user and the viewer.

"I want faster and better for Gaming and Twitch Streaming (also video editing every once in a while)".

And while yes lower on the frequency, can easily be set to 3.7 and perform better than the 4 core 8 thread. I pulled a system together within the money range that they specified. I also got him 1 stick of DDR4 so that when he has the money, they could add 1 more stick of 8 gig and end up equal.

Very good setup for what you are looking to do.
