I have the following setup
Cable Modem > wireless router > TP Link Ethernet Switch > ZyXel Switch. From the Zyxel switch i am connecting a ps4, sony tv, and desktop #2. Tp link switch i have desktop 1 connected and an ethernet runnjng to the zyxel switch. But none of the devices connected to zyxel switch is getting any connection or ip address. Is my setup not allowed? Can i not run from switch to switch? Thanks

Solution
You should initially try connecting both switches directly to the Wireless router (using DHCP). If you must have them in serial (i.e. Router >> TP Link >> Zyxel) then perhaps use a crossover LAN cable to patch between the TP Link and Zyxel switches and see if that works.

I did try switching the two switches and i still got the same behavior, and just tried using different cable, still no luck, unfortunately.

I might have to take this route. I was hoping to avoid it, since i didnt want to run a 100 ft cable from bedroom, to basement, to living room. But that would be my last resort. I will try the crossover LAN, thanks.
