So I’m trying to find the best wifi adapter for gaming. My router and modem is downstairs. I have a cheap $9 one and I can’t do anything with it. I’m trying to find one under $40 or $50 that can let me game and have great and fast connection at an affordable price. I wouldn’t mind having a power line adapter or wifi adapter but I do not want to have wires. If you have any ideas then please name what it is and link it below. Thank you.

Generally speaking a better wifi card wont improve speeds all that much, once you reach a certain point its your ISP.
Now, the better wifi card would improve connection quality, and that is important.

I got my wifi card (in sig) for the extended range for college living.

Well the best is a wired connection right to the PC, but you don't want wires so next best is dual band. However, by putting your router in the basement you eliminate that possibility as well because dual band signals can pass through two walls at most. That leaves you with the 2.4 GHz band. Any PCIe adapter will be fine for this, just don't get a USB dongle.

Thank you so much. Could you tell me your ping, download, and upload is? go to speedtest.net and it’ll check your speed of your internet. Also, would the one you are using be enoug for gaming on? Thank you.

this wifi adapter seems reasonable and good but how much would it increase my speed? This is my speedtest.net result with my current $9 adapter. https://gyazo.com/77d0ff2425ec6cc8ecc27de3f65a0dbd I know. It's bad!

That seems reasonable and product reviews say its good but do you know how drastically it'll improve my wifi speeds? This is my current. https://gyazo.com/77d0ff2425ec6cc8ecc27de3f65a0dbd
I was thinking about either getting the one you just sent me the link of, the TP-Link AC1300, or the Asus - PCE-AC55BT B1.Which one would you think best improve my internet speeds?

Yeah I agree with Gam3r01, your ISP is the biggest part because actually with the one I linked it is way faster than my ISP provides which is the same as your ISP from the look of it. I play mostly Ark and Conan exiles and it works very well. I live in a very rural area so I have the fastest internet available here. Takes about a week to download large games because I have to throttle the download or it takes all the bandwidth.

For sure it's my wifi adapter. This cheap wifi adapter is what's causing me these low speeds. I get around 30+ download on my laptop that has an ac adapter. Can you link me a picture of the speeds you get from speedtest.net?
Just so I know that it will work good for me in case I buy it :D
