ive been trying to get asus aura but i cant seem to download it. ive went to the support page.

also, my front case fans doesnt seem to spin, even at start up. the 3 front fans goes through a fan hub which uses a sata connector to power the hub. the lights are working and so are the buttons to control the lights, but the fan speed controls dont seem to be doing anything. not sure if its normal, and i dont want my system to over heat.

system parts:
Z270-A
i7-7700k
ASUS 1080 ti Oc
corsair hx850
corsair 570x
16gb vengeance 3000 mhz

thanks :)

These fans can be a bit confusing to set up because they have two different and separate control systems. Each fan has two cables coming out of it. One has a standard 3-pin fan female connector on its end, and that must plug into a mobo fan header. Moreover, that header must be able to deal with a 3-pin fan properly (more later). The other cable ends in a different connector that fits into the ports of the LED Hub that comes with the fans and case. That Hub PLUS its controller box does all the control of the LED's on those fans, but it does NOTHING for fan speeds. The Hub must plug into a SATA power output connector from the PSU to get its power for LED's, and the Controller box plugs into a socket on the Hub. That controller has three...

That controller has three buttons, each of which cycles through a sequence of options. One button is for selecting the LED colours, one is for selecting the way the changes of colour happen, and the last is for the speed of the colour change patterns. This last is NOT for fan speed.

Fan speed control is done by the mobo fan header that you plug the fan connector into. Your ASUS Prime Z270-A mobo is well equipped for this. It has two CHA_FAN headers. Each of them can be configured in BIOS Setup to use DC Mode, which is what you MUST set it to so that they can control these 3-pin fans. Now, there's a slight issue because you have three fans. For the third fan you could just use the additional H_AMP_FAN header and configure it also for DC Mode. This header is designed to handle higher-power fans, but it probably can do your job just fine. If you would rather, you can get a simple SPLITER that allows you to connect two fans to one of the CHA_FAN headers. Those fans (fan part only, excluding the LED's) consume about 0.2 amps max each, and a normal header can supply up to 1.0 amps. In configuring the fan headers, ensure they are set to use the Standard Profile, DC Mode, and the Motherboard Source for a temperature sensor.

This will put the speed of your three front fans under automatic control by the mobo based on the temperature on the motherboard (not inside the CPU chip), and the LED's of those fans under separate manual control by the Hub and its attached Controller box.
